Conference Theme and Keynote Speakers
RECONNECT: How do we reconnect with children, young people and families for the purpose of community and discipleship?
How do we reconnect people with God/faith and a Christian community for discipleship/faith forming in the context of:
• the prominence of pluralism within our communities, amplified through the pervasive influence of social media.
• the fastest growing ‘religion’ in the nation being ‘no religion’.
• the continuing, soul-searching longing for personal identity
Our keynote speakers have been invited to explore this theme and to speak from their experience and expertise.

Terry Williams
Church & Families Specialist, SU Australia
Terry has served on the Scripture Union staff team for 42 years, sharing his time between the work in Australia and on the SU International team. His heart is for all young people, in the context of their families, to find a life that flourishes amidst the challenges of their contexts. Helping young people to encounter a real Jesus, and journey with Him, is a significant priority for a life that works. To achieve this Kingdom goal, Terry has invested much of his ministry life into partnering initiatives (heretostay.org), global sports movement, Global Children’s Forum, Global Family Alliance…) knowing that working together we can achieve so much more. Terry is married to Marg and they have 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren (they call him ‘Pa’).

Ainsley Freeman
Marketing Associate, Olive Tree Media
Ainsley is a speaker, writer, preacher, marketer and loves a good excel spreadsheet! She channels most of her efforts at Olive Tree Media into the areas of marketing and communications. She authored the book Impress and co-wrote the children’s book “Game Changers, World Shakers and Real-Life Superheroes” with her husband, Jamie. Prior to Olive Tree Media, Ainsley was part of the leadership team of a digital agency, helping small businesses, schools and churches with their online presence. Outside of work, Ainsley was a key part of planting a church which involves everything from setting up chairs, making coffee, caring for people and teaching on a regular basis. She is married to Jamie Freeman with three sons and a dog!
